Owner and Chairman of Salman Group of Companies

Salman Al Jishi a passionate businessman, an affectionate family man and a compassionate philanthropist is a well know personality in the political and business community of the Eastern Province.[ K.S.A]

With successful businesses and robust investments in significant business concerns he is the epitome of the "enterprising spirit" of modern Saudi Arabia. He hails from Al Qatif in Saudi Arabia but his ancestral roots find their way into Bahrain, across the border where his grandfather was a successful businessman dealing in the world famous natural pearls of Bahrain. The advent of the Japanese cultured pearls, adversely affected their family business, necessitating a shift in domicile.

Salman Al Jishi

A third of his reputable family still resides in Bahrain. His Uncles Mr. Hassan Al Jishi, , whom he cites as his main inspiration in life was the first Chairman of the Bahraini Parliament and Mr. Majid Al Jishi was the Deputy Minister of Electricity of Bahrain. They have contributed significantly towards the development of modern industrial and commercial Bahrain as we know it today. His other Uncle Dr.Jameel Al Jishi was a member of the first Shoura Council in the Kingdom Saudi Arabia.

A dynamic statesman with a zeal to promote the image of Saudi Arabia by highlighting it as a modern commercial and progressive country, having state-of-the-art infrastructure and liberal investment policies that encourage foreign investments he has been elected to and nominated for several distinguished posts in Saudi Arabia.

Born with an entrepreneur's spirit, he was selling electrical goods at the age of seven for a summer job and went on to mature as a seasoned investor in Saudi shares. 1980 saw the formal opening of a prestigious ladies tailoring shop followed by a ladies beauty parlor. He still retains two of them, one of which is currently being managed by his wife.

After his marriage in 1989 he set up a printing press from scratch. He worked long and hard to learn the nuances of the trade and is today the proud owner of one of the finest printing presses in the Eastern Province that boasts of a distinguished list of clients headed by Aramco, Sabic and the leading MNC’s. Quite naturally he named his first industrial venture after his wife Madam Raja.

There has been no looking back for this young, energetic and vibrant entrepreneur. An ardent traveler himself, he established a travel agency in 1992 to add wings to his wanderlust and soon followed it up with the establishment of a duplex carton box printing and manufacturing unit, both of which are named after his first daughter Noor. Four years later he launched yet another flexible packaging printing and manufacturing industry. All his wholly owned businesses under the Salman Group of Companies are very successful and professionally managed by a team of highly qualified professionals. A very distinguished list of loyal clientele bears testimony to the high quality standards of products and services coupled with good business ethics and principles of the group.

The group corporate policy is to consistently produce and deliver top quality products and or services, tailor made to customer specifications, on time and every time, defect free and at competitive prices ensuring high customer satisfaction repeatedly.

In 2004 he successfully handed over the management and operations of his wholly owned companies to competent Saudi nationals and delinked himself from the day to day operations in order to give priority to fulfilling his desire to set up large scale to mega projects.

He wanted to focus on building a consortium of investors consisting of the leading business houses of Saudi Arabia to invest in projects. His business model is simple –

1. Conceptualize and or source projects that add value and contribute positively towards the industrial growth and economic development of Saudi Arabia and its citizens.

2. Source the best technology, equipments and know-how globally.

3. Implement world class manufacturing industries and service facilities to serve and develop the national and regional markets.

4. Invest in attracting, hiring and retaining the best quality manpower and encourage their continuous education, training and development with an aim towards mutual growth and development.

A far sighted visionary he believes in dreaming and aiming high. His vigor and visions resulted in the fulfillment of his entrepreneurial dreams with the incorporation of several prestigious projects in joint venture with the leading business houses and corporations of the Middle East region, all in record time, such as:

  • Saudi United Insurance J.S. Company one of the first 13 companies licensed under the recent insurance regulations.

  • Chemical Development Company incorporated to develop "mega petrochemical project".

  • Al Khobar Development Company incorporated to develop "specialized oil and gas industrial project".

  • Advanced Refinery and Petrochemicals Company a very ambitious project was jointly conceptualized by him and three other investors to invest in setting up the first "private sector refinery".

His dynamism, amicable personality and endearing leadership qualities led to his logical appointment in the board of various business ventures in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

He is a responsible citizen and believes in giving back to society in gratitude for what it has given him. He was instrumental in the inception of a marathon race around 11 years ago, an annual event now; the sponsorship proceeds are used to fund various charitable activities for the under privileged and handicapped in Saudi society. He is also presently in the process of making a 150 bed multi-speciality hospital in Al Qatif for addressing the needs of the lower to middle class citizen of the country.

The greatest challenge for Saudi Arabia, I believe that the need of the hour is to add value to the education system in the Country. English should be taught as a second language and mathematics and science must be taught from the earliest years in kindergarten in addition to Arabic, social history and religion.A discerning comment from one of the most progressive entrepreneurs of K.S.A

His main aim is to be a partner of choice in the set up of new business ventures for local and international business houses by adding value and taking a lead role in promoting and steering projects towards their speedy implementation; and to be an employer of choice to attract top notch professionals locally and from across the globe.
